First Aid is the initial assistance or care of a suddenly sick or injured person. It is the care a person applies as soon as possible after an accident or sudden illness. Applying first aid aims to preserve life, protect the casualty from further harm, provide pain relief, prevent the illness/injury from getting worse and provide reassurance to the person.

Course Title: Apply Basic First Aid   National Module Code   HLTFA301B   Delivery   One day program In this delivery option a workbook is issued on enrolment and must be completed prior to class and then brought along to the class to undertake practical component & assessment. (This is usually done under flexible arrangements made with the participant on enrolment.) Two day program This option includes full face to face delivery completed in the class room. Practical component & assessment is done under supervision in the classroom. Competencies Assess the situation Apply First Aid Procedures Communicate details of the incident Evaluate own Performance All materials are included in course cost. Enrolment Is after confirmation that the Student Handbook is read and understood. Entry Requirements There are no formal educational requirements for this course.
