Elective Units - 5

We have a selection of electives available depending on the make up of the class and their pathways.
  • All consumables, equipment, materials and textbooks are included in course cost.
  • This course is for hairdressers, beauty therapists or those aspiring to work as make-up artists. You will learn how to apply make-up for a range of purposes and in a range of situations - for example, for day or bridal wear, for remedial camouflage or for photographic work.
  • You must complete all 10 core units and 5 elective units to receive this qualification. However, you may be able to complete single units to suit your particular needs.
  • People considering enrolment in beauty courses need to be aware that skills development for clinical work will require students to practice on each other and that industry dress codes will apply. This will necessarily involve touch but will always be practiced and applied in accordance with industry codes of practice and ethics.

Enrolment

  • Is after confirmation that the Student Handbook is read and understood. This can be obtained by contacting our Administration Office prior to enrolment.
  • After enrolment, a time is confirmed for “Induction and Orientation" where CHS policies and procedures are explained for complete understanding.

Vocational Outcomes

This course gives you all the knowledge and skills required to work effectively as a Make-Up Artist.

Articulation

When you finish this course you can get advanced standing in other Beauty Training Package Qualifications, such as:
  • Cert II in Nail Technology SIB20210
  • Cert III in Beauty Services SIB30110
  • Cert IV in Beauty Therapy SIB40110
as well as Retail Training Package qualifications.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal educational requirements for this course, although a literacy and numeracy assessment must be completed.

Changes to RSA & RCG Laws

A new scheme is being introduced from Monday 22 August 2011. From that date, all registered training organisations (RTOs) that are approved to deliver Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) or Responsible Conduct of Gambling (RCG) courses will be required to use a common online system for recording course and student details.
